Scope of Position

The mission of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) is to integrate quality patient care, education, teaching, and research. The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) in Occupational Health Services supports this mission by assisting the Nurse Manager in leading a team of care providers focused on employee health and safety. The ANM fosters a healthy work environment that promotes collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team delivers care using the Nursing Professional Practice Model, emphasizing positive health outcomes, employee engagement, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Position Summary

The ANM assists with the planning, organization, direction, and evaluation of Occupational Health Services operations. This role is instrumental in operationalizing the Medical Center’s mission, vision, values, and goals within Occupational Health Services. Under the guidance of the Nurse Manager, the ANM helps manage, coach, and evaluate the performance of clinical and support staff. The ANM collaborates with departments across the medical center to ensure safe, compliant, and effective occupational health practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s in Nursing or related field preferred

Current Ohio RN license

Two to three years of clinical experience in a patient care or occupational health setting

Preferred experience in Occupational Health, Occupational Medicine, Employee Health, and/or certification as a COHN or COHN-S

Must obtain a nursing certification in administration or clinical specialty within 18 months of hire

Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in staff supervision or project coordination
