While certification is not required, the ideal candidate should be actively working towards obtaining their medical assistant certification.Responsibilities:Patient Care: Escort patients to examination rooms, take vital signs, and record medical history and chief complaints accurately.
Prepare patients for examination and assist with procedures under the guidance of the podiatrists.Medical Records Management: Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) for patients, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information.Appointment Scheduling: Assist in scheduling patient appointments, follow-up visits, and diagnostic tests as per the podiatrist's recommendations.Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance, including data entry, filing, and organizing patient documents, to support the smooth operation of the clinic.Instrument Sterilization: Follow proper procedures for sterilizing and maintaining medical instruments and equipment to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.Patient Education: Offer basic information and instructions to patients on post-treatment care, prescribed medications, and assist in distributing educational materials.Insurance Coordination: Verify patient insurance coverage, assist with processing insurance claims, and communicate with insurance providers as needed.Inventory Management: Monitor medical supplies and equipment inventory, restocking as necessary, and assist in maintaining a well-stocked and organized medical supply room.Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other medical assistants, administrative staff, and healthcare professionals to deliver cohesive patient care and maintain an efficient clinic workflow.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.
