Director of Information Technology (IT)

Job Description

This position is located at the Haak’u Health (HH) Center. The Information Technology (IT) Director plays an integral role in providing overall direction and management of IT operations, while ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technical support services. The IT Director will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all IT infrastructure including cybersecurity, data protection and compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Direct the overall development and implementation processes for IT systems and departments.

· Implement, track and maintain HH’s IT Strategic Assessment Plan.

· Maintain security of systems and networks while also ensuring compliance with applicable requirements and regulations.

· Perform risk assessments to develop response strategies and implementation of business continuity protocols to minimize disruption of business operations in the event of an emergency situation.

· Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, system capabilities and other metrics.

· Provide Leadership Team with IT recommendations and best practices to include emerging technology trends, maintenance of systems, cybersecurity, data storage and data protection.

· Facilitate IT security audits and investigations.

· Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.

· Administer and evaluate multi-site IT systems, including all technology updates.

· Provide ongoing staff training regarding usage of IT systems.

· Develop, administer and revise IT policies as necessary.

· Develop and manage annual IT budget.

· Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data and company information.

· Direct and manage IT project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule and scope.

· Perform supervisory duties including the hiring, training, work assignments and performance management of assigned staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

o Eight (8) years of experience managing an IT Department.

o Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of network and IT infrastructure.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.

· An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Must pass background screenings.

POSITION PREFERENCES

· Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field

· CISSP, CRISC or other IT certification

· Bilingual skills in English and the Keres native language.

· Prior experience working with Indian Health Services (IHS), a tribe or tribal organization.

· Native American Preference.
