Occupational Therapist Assistant COTA

Job Description

We are seeking a caring and motivated Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our team on a part-time, flexible-hours basis. The ideal candidate has experience working with children, preferably with a background in neurodivergence (e.g., autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences), and is eager to assist in delivering therapy that improves fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist licensed Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized therapy plans for children.

Provide direct patient care including therapeutic exercises, sensory activities, and functional skill training.

Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.

Collaborate with families and caregivers to reinforce therapy goals at home and in other settings.

Maintain a safe, positive, and engaging environment for pediatric patients.

Participate in team meetings and ongoing training to support professional development.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

Current COTA license or certification in the state of Tennessee.

Experience working with pediatric populations preferred.

Background or interest in working with neurodivergent children strongly preferred.

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about working with children and families.
