Job Summary

Safety First Trucking Academy is looking for a CDL Instructor to train students in Pre-Trip Inspection & Driving Techniques under Texas Commercial Driving Guidelines.s. This role requires a strong background in commercial driving, as well as the ability to effectively teach and mentor adult learners in both classroom and practical settings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for educating and training new drivers in safe driving practices, vehicle operation, and compliance with industry regulation

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive training sessions for new truck drivers, focusing on safety protocols, vehicle operation, and regulatory compliance

Provide hands-on instruction in operating tractor-trailers.

Assess trainee performance through evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to commercial driving.

Foster a positive learning environment that encourages questions and promotes engagement among trainees.

Skills

Proficient in air brake systems

Strong background in commercial driving with extensive experience behind the wheel of tractor-trailer units.

Excellent teaching skills with a focus on adult education methodologies.

Experience in classroom instruction, capable of delivering engaging presentations.

Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.

Strong organizational skills to manage training schedules and documentation efficiently.

5+ years CDL Class A driving experience

CVTA Certified (or willing to obtain)

Strong teaching & communication skills

Some mechanical knowledge a plus
