Salary Range for this position is $110k - $125k based upon experience and/or education with a 5% bonus potential

As a controller at GFS Chemicals, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial activities, budgeting, and ensuring the company’s financial health. You will work closely with the executive team to make informed decisions that drive our business forward. Your responsibilities will include:
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, MBA preferred.
A minimum of six years of progressive financial management experience is required, with a background in manufacturing preferred.
Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems.
Effective verbal and written communicator, able to communicate with a variety of audiences and management levels.
Must be organized and able to multi-task; quickly transition from one task to another while responding to interruptions.
Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated personnel management experience.
Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to change.
Proficient use of and experience with Microsoft Office products; particularly with Excel.
Ability to analyze problems, determine and take the correct course of action and/or recommend actionable suggestions for change.
Must have an initiative-taking attitude with regard to identifying and implementing process improvements, driving continuous enhancement of operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting department operational tasks within the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Financial Reporting and closing functions.
Manage staff, coach, and set goals for each member of the team, as appropriate.
Manage Accounts Receivable staff:
Determine credit worthiness of current and future customers
Establish & implement SOP for receivable collections
Manage trade credit insurance program
Review and reconcile A/R Aging
Manage Accounts Payable staff:
Manage weekly ACH/check payment selection and approvals
Review and reconcile A/P Aging
Review and reconcile PO Receive Not Vouchered report
Banking Relations and Cash Management:
Manage the company's treasury functions, including cash management and banking relationships
Monitor and forecast cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity
Negotiate and manage banking services and fees
Responsible for the month end close procedures including:
Lead and manage the month end closing process (Goal is one week closing)
Monthly Net Sales Snapshot
Reconcile Monthly Bank Statement
Maintain & reconcile various balance sheet accounts
Analyze Financial Reports
Maintain Fixed Asset System
Assist with Daily and Monthly Cost and Inventory analysis
Year End: Preparation yearend tax schedules for tax return preparation
Year End: Answer questions related to financials to aid in the tax return prep
Work with external auditors and provide information for the annual 401(k) audit.
Complete all US Census Bureau surveys.
Learn the ERP system and be the in-house resource.
Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with GAAP.
