JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

Job Title: Resin Mix Tech I

Report to: Site lead

Responsible for: None

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma

Work Times: 6:00am to 2:00pm (Monday to Friday). A degree of flexibility will be needed at peak periods. Overtime is expected. Lunch is paid.

Salary: Full time, non-exempt position.

Summary and Purpose

SHD Composite Materials Inc was incorporated in August 2018, to service the expanding American and Canadian composite industries. The North American HQ is in Mooresville, North Carolina and became a fully operational manufacturing facility in 2019 and the Tulsa site became operational in 2023.

SHD Composite Materials Inc are manufacturers of advanced composite pre-impregnated (prepreg) materials. With a growing global presence, we can service the American prepreg market with high quality prepreg at fast turnaround times together with world class technical support.

Our core strength is the ability to supply high or low volume, with a wide range of tooling and component products throughout America, and around the world.

The purpose of this role is to manufacture of pre-impregnated composite materials to Aerospace accredited standards.

Person Specification

In this role, you will be responsible for safe handling and monitoring manufacturing machines ensuring that everything is running smoothly and according to schedule following the standard operation procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Always adhere to company Health & Safety procedures including external compliance such as COSHH.

Working to company Quality standards (to AS9100 requirements) and Production tolerances.

Working as an effective team member and assisting your Team Leader and Senior Operators to meet team targets, Production targets and KPIs.

Assisting with stock control and cyclic stock counts.

Calibrate Gel Block, test Gel time, identify Resin and labels, clean resin bowl and utensils, operate and clean bowl wash, replace plastic on floor, operate ovens, dump resin, weigh resin, operate scales, operate sieve, make pre-mixes, empty trash, stock ovens for night, trough management and operate vacuum chamber.

Mix resins according to SOP’s and using all safety equipment and required PPE.

Be aware of and watch for Exothermal process.

Maintaining the highest standard of housekeeping to keep a clean and safe working environment.

Waste reduction and Production cost minimisation.

Complete paperwork to comply with AS9100 Quality standards.

To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.

You will also be given full training in all areas of Production (Set Up, Production Techs, Inspection, Coating Head and Resin Mixing) with the expectation of filling in when needed in every area.

Work Environment/Essential Physical Demands

Ability to perform physical work for extended periods of time.

Possible weekend work and overtime required.

Must have good vision.

Ability to frequently bend, lift (up to 50lbs), and reach.

Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day.

Ability to frequently push and pull items up to 105 lbs using lifting equipment.

Ability to safely, effectively and reliability receive and give urgent and other essential communications in a factory environment.

Ability to detect abnormalities in the process and receive safety signals using visual, tactile, or auditory senses.

Must be able to follow all safety and company policies and procedures.

Must be able to wear all required PPE.

Must be able to work in a typical manufacturing environment on concrete floors.

Must be able to work short time periods in cold temperatures.

Skills and Ability

Good understanding of English and Maths.

Basic Computer Skills.

Attention to detail.

The ability to work within a team.

Clear and effective communicator

Previous hands-on experience in manufacturing, the application of production systems and or cleaning of industrial equipment in manufacturing strongly preferred.
