UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is hiring Full Time Physical Therapists. We currently have opportunities at the following clinic locations;

Southtowns - Big Tree Clinic located at 5959 Big Tree Road, Orchard Park NY 14127

Downtown- Canalside Clinic located at 100 Washington Street, Buffalo NY 14203. First floor of LECOM Harborcenter.

Northtowns - Williamsville Clinic located at 111 N. Maplemere Rd, Williamsville NY 14221.

JOB SUMMARY

The Physical Therapist is responsible for developing and administering a physical therapy program that meets the patient’s goals and needs by assessing and interpreting evaluations.

JOB DUTIES

Analyzes risk, problem solves effectively and demonstrates a high level of professional judgment when recommending and providing services, making environmental modifications and training staff to manage physical needs at an appropriate level of supervision.

Provides competent physical therapy interventions, including therapeutic exercise, balance coordination and agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength power and endurance training, functional training in self-care and home management, manual therapy, application and adjustment of assistive devices, application and adjustment of physical agents and electrotherapeutic modalities compliant with federal and state licensing requirements, APTA standards documents (eg, Guide for Conduct for the PTA, Code of Ethics), and facility policies and procedures. .

Provides direct supervision of physical therapy assistants in accordance with the Guidelines for PT Practice in NYS.

Evaluates effects of physical therapy treatments by observing, noting, and evaluating patient’s progress; recommending adjustments and modifications.

Assure safety of patient and self throughout patient care.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required along with successful completion of a NYS or APTA accredited Physical Therapy program. Certification to practice in NYS as evidenced by current licensure.

Experience Requirements

Background in sports medicine and/or professional experience in outpatient orthopaedic environment preferred.

Skills and Competencies Requirements

Skill in selecting and providing a wide range of intervention strategies and monitoring their effectiveness.

Ability to plan, coordinate and provide training and continuing education both formally and informally to staff and other medical professionals.

Above average communication and customer service skills.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Must be able to remain standing and ambulatory for 75% of the work day. Must be able to assist patients on/off equipment, treatment tables, or other equipment. Will need to move about the office occasionally to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. May occasionally travel to various practice locations. Will frequently communicate with patients, staff, and provider; must be able to exchange accurate information.

Must have the ability to demonstrate exercises including sport specific activities and advanced body weight strengthening.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed primarily in a clinical setting, with light to moderate noise levels.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
