Adjunct Faculty- CLITR Word and Image, Fall In-Person

The Opportunity

Lesley University’s Department of Liberal Arts & Business is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach: FA 25 CLITR 1100 Word and Image - In Person. Two sections: one meets on Tuesday and Fridays, 11,10-12,25. The other one meets on Mondays and Wednesdays 12,55-2,10.

Course Description: The focus of this course is on analyzing and writing about literary genres and visual works. Students learn how to "read" and analyze written and visual texts while relating them to each other and to students' own lives and the world around them. Students explore fiction, poetry, and plays, as well as graphic narratives and/or films representing a wide variety of cultures and chronological periods. The course develops critical written and verbal analytic skills.

Qualifications and Capabilities

A successful candidate will have:

Master's degree (PhD preferred in writing/English) with experience teaching first year writing courses

Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
