Lab Supervisor directs and manages daily operations and organization of the Radiation Oncology Research Laboratory; serves as technical expert in the lab; provides supervision of students and technicians in the use of equipment; directs, oversees and authorizes purchases; negotiates pricing with external vendors; orders lab equipment and supplies; manages work assignments, training, certification and review of employees; responsible for the development and management of grant budgets; ensures compliance with all safety standards by laboratory personnel; develops new lab procedures as needed; assists with grant writing and administrative documents; assists with clinical trial protocol management and sample procurement and/or storage; contributes to manuscript preparation and serves as the manager for manuscript submissions; serves as a key liaison for interactions with intra- and inter- university research collaborators. Books travel for Research Faculty and staff for national and international travel; manages the inspections, background checks, maintenance and scheduling for departmental shared resources which includes the GammaCell irradiator, Confocal Microscope, and Mass Spectrometer; Oversees the lab start up for new faculty recruit labs and mentors new lab managers in the department. Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. 6 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.
