Company Summary
The SJRA is a public entity whose mission is to develop, conserve, and protect the water resources of the San Jacinto River basin. Its primary purpose is to implement long-term, regional projects related to water supply and water quality. SJRA delivers raw water to both municipal and industrial consumers and provides water treatment and wastewater services through the ownership, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure including reservoirs, groundwater wells, surface water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, and miles of open channel and conveyance systems.
Position Summary
The SCADA/ I&C Technician 1 maintains, calibrates, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, and overhauls instrumentation and control systems associated with utility facilities. This role uses excellent technical, communication and problem-solving skills to solve difficult or complex challenges. Duties include:
Maintains process and instruments within the SCADA/I&C system used to indicate, measure and control variables.
Performs calibrations and conformance tests within the SCADA/I&C system to measure and control variables associated with the SCADA/I&C systems.
Uses the Asset Management/Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track and record work and properly document, organize, and file correspondence, reports and records related to maintenance activities within the system.
Monitors and maintains an inventory of spare parts and inventory records, including ordering parts and equipment as needed.
This position is classified as a safety sensitive position. The individual holding this position is subject to random, unannounced drug and alcohol testing.
This position is classified as primary essential personnel. The individual holding this position will be required to work as usual or as needed (1) during emergency operations, (2) in preparation for prolonged emergency operations and/ or (3) during recovery from prolonged emergency operations as directed by his/her direct supervisor, appropriate Department/Division Manager, the appropriate Senior Level Manager, or the General Manager.

Requirements
High School diploma required.
Associate degree in instrumentation, electronic technology, or related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Up to 1 year of experience in Instrumentation & Controls, panel building, and utilities.
Texas Journeyman Electrician License is preferred.
Rockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix Certification preferred.
ISA Certified Control Systems Technician Level 1 is preferred.
Texas Driver’s License with an insurable driving record is required.
