Job Summary
The CNC Operator is responsible for operating automated and manual machinery to produce machined components according to specifications. The role includes material handling, product quality inspection, data entry, and adherence to safety and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate CNC machinery according to established procedures and production targets.
Monitor and verify the quality of machined parts, ensuring they meet specifications.
Perform data entry into Masterpack, including scrap, reloads, and production numbers.
Stage raw materials and load CNC machines based on the work-in-progress (WIP) schedule.
Wrap, label, and stage finished goods for further processing or shipment.
Remove and properly dispose of machine-generated debris and scrap materials.
Assist with shipping duties, including pulling, packaging, loading, scanning, and put-away.
Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, power pallet jacks, and manual pallet jacks or carts.
Follow detailed work instructions, safety guidelines, and PPE requirements.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to 5S and OSHA standards.
Collaborate with leadership and quality teams to resolve production or quality issues.
Be flexible to perform other duties as assigned, including required overtime.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
Previous CNC machine operation or manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required—training will be provided.
Must be able to read and write in English.
Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals).
Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
Capable of comparing measurements to specifications and assessing quality.
Able to read and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Must have good hand-eye coordination.
Ability to adapt quickly to process changes in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
May be required to lift or move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Exposure to manufacturing environment including noise, moving machinery, and temperature variations.
Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.
