Gardener

1 month contract with a Local Authority

Job Summary:

• A temporary Gardener is required to support grounds maintenance across various sites.

• The role involves general horticultural and outdoor estate work to ensure communal areas are safe, clean, and well-presented.

• This is a hands-on manual labour position covering multiple locations.

Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):

• Undertake general gardening duties including grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding, planting, pruning, and watering.

• Maintain cleanliness of outdoor communal areas including sweeping, litter picking, and leaf clearance.

• Operate and maintain powered horticultural tools and equipment (e.g. lawnmowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers).

• Carry out soft landscaping as required.

• Travel between multiple sites to carry out daily duties.

• Work in accordance with health and safety procedures, reporting any hazards or incidents promptly.

• Deliver a high standard of service while interacting respectfully with residents and the public.

Skills/Experience:

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance or gardening (essential).

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Able to use a range of gardening tools and machinery safely.

• Good physical fitness and manual handling ability.

• Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple locations.

• Awareness of health and safety procedures and safe working practices.

Additional Information:

• The closing date: 22/08/2025.

• Full-time role: 45 Hours/week.

• Basic DBS check required.

• This is a mobile role – not based at a single location.
