Accounts Receivable Collector (Phone Heavy)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Collector to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will be confident on the phone, persistent, and skilled at balancing firmness with professionalism to protect relationships while driving results.

What You’ll Do

Conduct outbound phone calls as the primary focus, securing payment commitments and reducing AR aging.

Use Sage 300 CRE to log calls, update notes, track balances, and document outcomes.

Support your workflow with Power Automate and Microsoft Office Suite to manage reminders, follow ups, and reporting.

Send emails and written communication as secondary methods to reinforce calls.

Provide weekly aging updates to management with call outcomes, broken promises, and upcoming commitments.

Be proactive in escalating accounts that require management involvement to accelerate payment.

Stay organized with call notes, promises, and follow ups so that AR is visible and actionable across the team.

What We’re Looking For

Prior AR/collections experience in a service, construction, or property management environment.

Knowledge of plumbing, sprinkler, mechanical, boiler, and HVAC service and construction terminology strongly preferred.

Strong phone presence with persistence, firmness, and professionalism.

Ability to handle difficult conversations while maintaining respect and protecting long-term customer relationships.

Experience working directly in Sage 300 CRE or similar accounting systems.

Detail oriented and organized, able to manage multiple accounts and follow up consistently.

Able to manage shifting priorities and handle high call volumes in a dynamic environment.

Proactive and results-driven, with a focus on reducing past due balances.
