Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Accounting Manager located in Houston, TX. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing financial reporting, and overseeing accounting operations. The role will include conducting financial analysis, developing financial strategies, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Accounting Manager will also coordinate with external auditors, manage budgets, and supervise a team of finance professionals. EXPERIENCE IN ASSET-BASED TRUCKING AND MANUFACTURING IS A PLUS, BILINGUAL SPANISH AND ENGLISH IS AN ADDITIONAL PLUS
Key Responsibilities
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll activities
Facilitate month-end closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Collaborate with the external CPA firm to manage tax matters
Prepare and present financial statements to stakeholders
Manage the accounting of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
Conduct annual inventory and ensure accurate records are maintained
Utilize accounting software systems for efficient operations
Ensure compliance with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning protocols
Conduct auditing activities to ensure financial compliance
Handle billing functions and resolve any discrepancies.
Qualifications
Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus
Proficiency in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting
Strong Analytical Skills and experience in Finance
Extensive knowledge and expertise in accounting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience with ERP systems and financial software is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field;
EXPERIENCE IN ASSET-BASED TRUCKING AND MANUFACTURING IS A PLUS, BILINGUAL SPANISH AND ENGLISH IS AN ADDITIONAL PLUS
Requirements
Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting lead, managerial or supervisory role
Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
Experience with ADP - Financial Services is a must
Knowledge of Concur expense management software
Proficient in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems
Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Prior experience in Auditing
Familiarity with Billing Functions
Experience in conducting Annual Inventory
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effective management of P/L, Balance Sheet, AP, AR, Payroll, process improvement, and other accounting functions. Also, you will be responsible for various administrative tasks that the company may need, including responding to state, federal, insurance, and legal matters.
