ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and present sales proposals to clients
Creation of client-focused sales plans to meet/exceed goals in conjunction with Target and Key Account development
Represent the Station when attending relevant industry and community related events.
Involve the Stations in the community through sponsorships of charity events.
Excel at prospecting and aggressively seeking new clientele by networking
Build and maintain relationships with clients to ensure long-term partnerships
Writes script, contests and interview questions
Collaborate with producers and co-hosts to develop and execute well-structured, dynamic show rundowns
Prepares and creates a topical show by gathering information from wire copy, periodicals, computer and television
Adhere to all FCC regulations and company policies regarding content, advertising disclosures, and ethical broadcasting standards.
Reads news flash to keep audience informed of relevant news
Record interviews of relevant guests and edits interviews
Interviews guest, and moderates panel or discussion show to entertain audience
Answers phone lines and interviews members of listening audience who telephone musical requests. Airs contests according to the specifications of the program director
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Present a positive and professional attitude and presence at all station events
High-level written and verbal communication skills, and in particular the ability to
communicate around multiple creative projects in a time-sensitive manner
Strong attention to detail and solid organizational and project management skills
Be able flexible with work hours/duties
Able to work independently with little supervision
Must be open and responsive to coaching
Working knowledge of Windows, Outlook, Word, and social media platforms
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school. Must have at least 2 years on-air experience in broadcasting and/or television. An equivalent combination of education and experience is desirable.
