Overview: As the Security and Safety Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our site, overseeing our local security operations command center, and managing our electronic security systems. You will also be responsible for overseeing emergency management activities and ensuring our operations adhere to Elevance Health standards Global Security and Safety. This position requires a proactive, decisive individual who can manage high-pressure situations with professionalism and precision.
Key Responsibilities:
Security Operations and Management:
Oversee the local command center and electronic security systems (ESS), including installation, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
Provide 24/7 supervision of security and safety operations and ensure seamless functionality of security systems, including badge printing.
Conduct thorough investigative reviews of incidents utilizing the ESS to ensure comprehensive reporting and resolution.
Emergency Management and Response:
Help coordinate evacuations during emergencies to ensure the safety of all personnel.
Manage and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, providing appropriate guidance and assistance.
Risk Assessment and Reporting:
Identify and analyze potential threats to company assets, making informed decisions based on available data.
Monitor weather, news, and events to anticipate and mitigate potential impacts on company operations.
Prepare and disseminate incident reports, newsletters, and reminders to stakeholders and the Regional Security Operations Center (RSOC) as required.
Policy Implementation and Training:
Collaborate with RSOC monthly to ensure alignment with Elevance Health standards.
Support the implementation of security and safety policies and procedures.
Conduct training sessions for technology transfer, ensuring all team members are proficient in operations and emergency protocols.
Develop and oversee key performance indicators (KPI) for contingent workers.
Safety Officer Responsibilities:
Implement and monitor safety practices, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Foster a culture of safety through regular training and awareness initiatives.
Conduct safety audits and inspections, addressing any identified issues promptly.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in security and safety management, ideally in a supervisory capacity.
Strong knowledge of electronic security systems and emergency response protocols.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations diplomatically.
Decisive and able to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
Familiarity with local safety regulations and best practices.
Strong organizational and reporting skills.
