USA Firmware – Sr. Electrical Engineer (1099 Contract, Hybrid – Concord, OH)

USA Firmware is partnering with a client on an exciting new project and is looking for a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join the team on a contract basis. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of complex electrical system design and development while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The role requires a hybrid schedule with at least 2 days/week onsite in Concord, OH.

What You’ll Do:

Lead design and development of electrical control systems for innovative equipment.

Create and debug schematics and PCB layouts (Altium preferred).

Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Unitronics, Panasonic, Advantech, Beckhoff) and HMIs.

Develop and test firmware for microcontrollers (C/C++), including communication protocols.

Validate prototypes, perform testing, and troubleshoot issues.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.

Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (UL, CSA, NFPA, CE).

Document designs, testing, and support materials.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.

4+ years of experience in control and electrical engineering.

Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, PLCs, and electrical CAD tools (Draftsight, Eplan).

Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Familiarity with UL/CSA/NFPA/CE standards is a plus.
