Our client, a prominent Life Insurance Group in Hong Kong, is seeking a Data Modeler to join their dynamic team to support their Enterprise Data Program. The role will leverage your expertise to shape and optimize data models that drive our enterprise-wide data initiatives. Your work will play a crucial role in enhancing data quality, accessibility, and insights across the organization, supporting strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with the business objectives and data transformation goals of the enterprise data program.
- Work closely with business analysts, data architects, data engineers, and IT teams to gather requirements and ensure data models meet organizational needs and regulatory standards.
- Implement and enforce data governance standards, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across all systems.
- Develop data validation processes to support quality assurance.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation for data models, data dictionaries, and metadata. Establish and uphold data modeling standards and best practices.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies in data modeling and insurance industry standards to drive innovation and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- At least 7 years in data modeling, data architecture, or a related field, with significant experience in the insurance industry, preferably life insurance.
- Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar. Strong understanding of SQL, data warehousing, and ETL processes. Familiarity with data governance tools and practices.
- Strong understanding of Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, SQL, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to design robust and efficient data models.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor team members, with a strategic mindset for driving data initiatives.
- Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
