What you'll do: * Assists with research, case analysis & evaluation & preparation of legal memoranda, agenda items, orders, subpoenas; reviews files; prepares & disseminates complaints, correspondence, orders, entries & legal memoranda; schedules in-person & virtual meetings, and conferences.
* Compiles case information electronically or through correspondence; uses expertise to support the General Counsel and Executive Director, manage office records; provides legal & administrative support to the General Counsel and Executive Director; (e.g., assists with drafting legal documents and correspondence, organizing case files, scheduling, and preparing materials for the Attorney General's Office; operates personal computer using Microsoft applications, web browsers & web-based research programs (i.e., Westlaw, LEXIS/NEXIS, Hannah News); operates OnBase, ARC and HEMS; operates photocopier, facsimile, label maker & other general office equipment.
* Monitor, track, and report legislation that may impact OCRC's authority, statute, and/or mission; prepare news clips relating to discrimination and other related matters; ensures all cases and required legal documentation are appropriately submitted & on time for commission meetings.
* Conducts legal & non-legal research; assists with preparing & providing legal based training; assists with maintaining & preparing Administrative Code rule revisions, bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ) requests, logs, schedules & related legal ensures agency records are disposed of in accordance with records retention schedules; performs other related duties as assigned.
