About this Opportunity
The part-time Advanced Practice Provider II performs clinician work in Health Services clinics, and is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of children, birth through 21 years of age. Work involves providing medical assessment of well newborns through 21 years of age, including chronically ill and handicapped children whose conditions are not beyond the scope of the nurse practitioner's training and expertise, and serving as clinical preceptor for Health Services staff with additional training needs and for nursing/NP students per contract. Employee is able to exercise considerable tact, courtesy, discretion, firmness and fairness in contact with the public. Reports to the Director of Nursing.
Education and Experience
Master's degree in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner Certification with at least five (5) years of nursing experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Doctorate of Nursing preferred. Education and experience cannot substitute for one another.
Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse and approved to perform medical acts by the North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners and North Carolina Board of Nursing.
CPR Certification required.
North Carolina Credentialed Public Health Nurse Course (NCCPHN) required per state guidelines.
Valid North or South Carolina driver's license required.
Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment, including computer, copier, facsimile machine, scale, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, etc. Must be able to exert up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical demand requirements are for Light to Medium Work.
