Role: AMS Physical Design Engineer (Remote - US)
Work Location: Remote (US-based)
Background Check and Meet & Greet: Mandatory
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced AMS Physical Design Engineer to lead physical design implementation for digital blocks within AMS design projects. This role involves both block-level and full-chip physical design using established physical design (PD) flows.
Key Responsibilities
Lead physical design implementation of digital blocks in AMS designs at both block and full-chip levels.
Execute tasks including:
Synthesis
Place and Route (PNR)
Static Timing Analysis (STA)
Electromigration/IR (EM/IR) analysis
Logical Equivalence Checking (LEC)
Low Power checks
Perform early exploration of floorplan, power plan, congestion, and routing analysis.
Conduct hierarchical synthesis for optimized design implementation.
Optimize power, performance, and area (PPA) to meet design specifications.
Elaborate, compile, and place RTL to provide early PPA feedback.
Review timing, area, congestion, and power reports to ensure quality and performance.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in physical design.
Strong understanding of physical design concepts and RTL-to-GDS flow.
Experience with design, floorplanning, and placement of digital and analog components at full-chip level.
Hands-on experience with TSMC and GlobalFoundries processes (55nm to 22nm).
Expertise in low power implementation, power gating, multiple voltage rails, and UPF standards.
Proficient in Cadence Innovus for block and chip-level physical design implementation.
Experience using EDA tools such as Synopsys PrimeTime, Mentor Graphics Formality, or Cadence Conformal for LEC and low power checks.
Good knowledge of Verilog and scripting languages (Tcl and Python preferred).
