The Fire Station (TFS) operates as a series of Marijuana Establishments within the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. TFS holds valid state and municipal operating licenses and strives to exceed compliance standards at the highest level. Beginning in 2019 with less than ten employees, our business is now growing rapidly and welcomes new employees who are interested in a career in the cannabis industry. As a Marijuana Retail Establishment, our operations involve welcoming customers 21 + years of age into our establishment to view and purchase high quality marijuana products. A team of employees all work together to provide customers with top notch customer service and cannabis knowledge to aid them in their cannabis experience.
Job Title: Inventory Technician
Please note: The Fire Station Cannabis Co. Niles, Michigan will be curbside only operations for the foreseeable future with our goal to have an in-store experience at a later date. Due to curbside operations, this is a dynamic position involving a variety of responsibilities that may shift throughout the day. Duties include order taking, fulfillment, cashiering, receiving, curbside assistance, and other operational support to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Job Description
The inventory technician’s role is to track/monitor/process all inventory within the facility ensuring compliance with the Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA). Inventory technicians will work heavily with the Statewide Monitoring System, METRC, where they will inspect digital manifests. Inventory Techs will physically inspect incoming products for correct quantity and compliance, and import products into the Point of Sale (POS) system which is used by both our processing center and retail establishments.
Responsibilities
Access METRC to view incoming shipment digital manifests, as well as reviewing shipment invoices to check for accuracy
Assist in unloading/loading of product in transport vehicle
Physically check incoming product for compliance and accuracy prior to accepting in METRC
Complete the digital receival or rejection of incoming product in METRC
Responsible for properly importing products in POS after product shipments are accepted in METRC
Complete regular audits (daily, weekly) by performing physical counts of all inventory within the building and using a nug scanner to scan the physical inventory and view inventory quantities displayed in POS to make sure both counts align
Submit and report discrepancies to POS and METRC and further resolve these discrepancies
Work in a timely manner to prevent delays in resolving inventory issues and potential risk of non compliance with CRA rules
Enforce FIFO amongst staff by conducting proper product storage protocol
Occasionally asked to train new TFS staff on policies, procedures, and job shadowing
Maintenance of a clean, organized and sanitary work environment
Complete and sign required checklists for end of shift duties, including sanitation and establishment upkeep
Responsible for capturing quality product images

Education & Experience
High school education or GED required
Higher education in business, management or similar fields required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
At least 3 years of experience in a related inventory management field or environment
Experience with computerized inventory systems and POS systems required
Experience working in a licensed marijuana processing facility preferred
Ability to use and manage METRC; experience using METRC required
Work Environment
State & Municipal Law - TFS operates in full compliance with all rules and regulations enforced by the State of Michigan’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) and Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA). Further, TFS operates in full compliance with the rules and regulations of each municipality they are located within. To operate in compliance with such rules and regulations, employees are required to follow all policies created and enforced by and within TFS establishments.

Must maintain personal hygiene and sanitation practices, including wearing hair nets, beard nets and gloves when handling flower

Employee must be able to follow basic instructions as well as be able to take constructive criticism from managers to help maintain excellent quality standards and production goals
Curbside operations involve tasks that require physical stamina and the ability to maintain a high level of energy over an extended period. This includes standing, walking, and brisk movements to assist customers with their orders.
Will be required to perform job duties outside of the facility in potentially inclement weather during curbside services.
Job Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have NO felony convictions
Satisfactory background check
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time
Valid form of government issued photo identification

Typically 40 hours per week, flexibility required
