About the Role:

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) at Allergy Asthma & Immunology Specialists plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services to patients with allergic, asthmatic, and immunologic conditions. This position involves conducting detailed patient assessments, diagnosing complex conditions, and developing individualized treatment plans to improve patient outcomes. The NP will collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective care. Additionally, the role requires educating patients and their families about disease management, prevention strategies, and medication adherence. Ultimately, the NP will contribute to advancing the clinic’s mission by providing compassionate, evidence-based care that enhances the quality of life for patients in the community.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Georgia and/or Alabama, or ability to obtain it within first few months of hire.

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a nationally recognized certifying body (e.g., ANCC or AANP).

Experience or clinical training in Allergy, Asthma, Immunology, or related fields.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous clinical experience in an allergy, asthma, or immunology specialty practice.

Advanced certifications related to allergy and immunology care.

Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, preferably eClinicalWorks

Strong background in patient education and chronic disease management.

Participation in professional organizations related to Allergy and Immunology.

Responsibilities:

Perform thorough patient histories and physical examinations focused on Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

Diagnose and manage acute and chronic allergic and immunologic conditions using evidence-based protocols.

Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests such as skin prick tests, pulmonary function tests, and laboratory studies.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies.

Provide patient education on disease processes, medication usage, lifestyle modifications, and allergen avoidance.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.

Document patient encounters accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with advances in allergy, asthma, and immunology care.

Skills:

The Nurse Practitioner will utilize advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic skills daily to evaluate and manage patients with complex allergic and immunologic conditions. Effective communication skills are essential for educating patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic tests and applying evidence-based treatment protocols will directly impact patient outcomes. Organizational skills are critical for maintaining accurate documentation and managing multiple patient cases efficiently. Additionally, adaptability and continuous learning are important to stay current with evolving medical guidelines and technologies in Allergy and Immunology care.
