We are seeking a Control Room Operator I / Field Operator III to support oil and gas operations at the COMET facility in Spring, TX. This hybrid role will focus on remote monitoring and control of production via SCADA systems while also providing field operations support to wells, pipelines, and associated facilities. The ideal candidate will bring experience in both control room operations and field production, with a strong background in pipeline systems, tank batteries, compressor stations, and emergency response.Key Responsibilities
Control Room Duties:
Manage and control oil and gas production remotely using SCADA systems
Provide real-time reports and data to field operations, marketing, and management
Identify optimization opportunities to maximize production and coordinate corrective actions with field staff
Monitor facilities for equipment issues and potential failures
Manage and communicate SCADA alarms using both verbal and electronic channels
Dispatch I&E, VRU, flare, compression, and service personnel as required
Monitor third-party and downtime events to optimize scheduling
Assist field operations during incidents or emergencies
Field Operations Duties:
Operate wells and equipment using approved safety and operating procedures
Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective or optimization measures
Perform routine maintenance activities as an Equipment Care Technician
Maintain accurate shift logs and provide detailed handover reports
Collect samples for laboratory analysis and perform basic field tests
Coordinate and oversee corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance jobs
Respond to alarms, shutdowns, and emergency events, escalating per guidelines
Ensure wellheads and surface equipment are in proper condition prior to Wellwork interventions
Support ongoing Wellwork and pipeline operationsRequired Skills & Qualifications
Completed secondary education; prior experience as a Field Technician
Oil and gas operating experience required; control room experience preferred
Strong communication skills (oral and written)
High standard of Safety, Health, and Environmental aptitude, with ability to influence others
Knowledge of pipeline operations, production, midstream, tank batteries, compressor stations, and onshore field facilities
Familiarity with safety and operations management tools, emergency preparedness procedures, and project design specifications
Knowledge of relevant regulations and commercial agreements
Proficiency with SCADA systems and Microsoft Office products
