Position Summary:

FusionICS is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support federal infrastructure and secure facility construction projects in the National Capital Region. This role requires in-depth expertise in designing, reviewing, and overseeing the installation of electrical systems in compliance with DoD, UFC, and NEC standards.

The ideal candidate will bring technical depth in power distribution, lighting, grounding, and control systems, along with experience in high-security, mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, review, and approve electrical drawings and specifications for secure construction projects.

Oversee contractor execution of electrical work, ensuring adherence to design, budget, schedule, and safety.

Conduct field inspections and troubleshoot electrical system issues.

Ensure compliance with NEC, UFC, DoD, and other relevant codes and regulations.

Coordinate with architects, civil, and mechanical engineers during planning and implementation phases.

Support commissioning, acceptance testing, and red-line/as-built documentation.

Interface with federal clients, providing technical input and updates.

Participate in meetings, submittal reviews, and RFIs.

Maintain configuration control and change management in secure design documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education & Experience:

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, including design and field work.

Experience with DoD construction projects, military facilities, or government contracting preferred.

Certifications & Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of NEC, UFC, and government/federal construction specifications.

Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or BIM software.

Familiarity with power distribution, grounding, lighting, emergency systems, and controls.

Ability to produce sealed/stamped engineering drawings preferred.

Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work safely on active construction sites and wear required PPE.

Preferred Qualifications:

PE (Professional Engineer) license or EIT with intention to obtain PE.

Experience with SCIF/SAPF or high-security electrical systems.

Background in commissioning secure DoD/NIC projects or mission-critical infrastructure.

Experience with design-build project delivery.

Security Clearance Requirement:

Active Top Secret (TS) clearance required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain clearance at the necessary level for assigned duties.

Compensation:

Base Salary: Competitive, based on experience and security clearance level.

Annual Review: Compensation is reviewed annually as part of FusionICS' performance and salary review process.

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in high-security environments requiring strict access controls and security protocols.

Requires lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.

Occasional travel to other sites or campuses as needed.
