The Town of Brewster is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Mechanic for the Captains Golf Course, 36-hole golf facility. This position is responsible for maintaining turf equipment and repairing all vehicles, machinery and equipment used by the golf department.

The Maintenance Mechanic will inspect, diagnose, and repair a wide variety of equipment, including mowers, sprayers, aerators, hydraulic motors, and gas, diesel, and electric powered vehicles; testing equipment to ensure it is safe and in proper working order. Grinds bed knives and reels. Operates a range of department equipment including mowers, loaders, and tractors to assist in the care and maintenance of the golf course. Maintains knowledge and skill in MIG & TIG welding.

High School diploma and a minimum of three years of experience in mechanical repairs and equipment maintenance or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 2A and 1C hoisting licenses required or the ability to obtain licenses in the first six months of employment. The ideal candidate will be a team player with previous golf equipment maintenance experience. Interested? This is a full-time, year-round 40 hour a week position covered by the Service Employees International Union agreement with a pay range of $29.09 - $35.77 per hour, starting pay dependent on qualifications and experience.
