We are seeking an experienced and motivated Aviation Security Officer – Team Lead (TASO) to oversee all aviation security operations on assigned flights. This leadership role demands a dynamic professional with a strong background in aviation security, screening technologies, and regulatory compliance. The Team Lead is responsible for ensuring all flight security activities align with company, TSA, airport, and client standards while leading and mentoring aviation security personnel in the field.

Key Responsibilities

· Direct and coordinate flight security operations in collaboration with Loadmasters and security teams.

· Lead multiple teams by providing guidance, training, and operational oversight for all assigned flights.

· Implement and monitor risk-based security measures in accordance with corporate and federal standards.

· Conduct ongoing risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate threats and sustain operations.

· Serve as a company representative with Airport Authority stakeholders and law enforcement agencies.

· Supervise subordinate personnel and monitor the performance of aircrew security teams.

· Ensure compliance with HR and company policies related to performance, attendance, and training.

· Conduct pre-flight team briefings and mission planning discussions.

· Protect and maintain accountability of company vehicles and equipment.

· Manage real-time security communications, task prioritization, and incident response.

· Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of security staff and flight crew members.

· Escalate unresolved or high-risk security concerns to senior leadership promptly.

Skills and Qualifications

· U.S. Citizen

· Valid state-issued driver’s license or REAL ID-compliant identification.

· Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in aviation or security operations.

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution OR significant operational experience.

· Demonstrated success managing security or screening operations within the past 5 years.

· Thorough knowledge of aviation security practices and screening technologies.

· Available to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

· Must pass a comprehensive 5-year background investigation.

· Eligible for and able to maintain SIDA badge with Customs seal.

· Proven leadership experience managing teams of 5 or more personnel.

· Preferred experience with DHS, law enforcement, military, or special operations.

· Familiarity with mission-critical logistics and explosive threat detection protocols.

Regulatory Compliance

This role is regulated by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and is subject to requirements imposed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, as the position includes access to Customs-controlled areas.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

· Operate in both indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to noise, chemicals, and equipment.

· Visual and auditory acuity (with or without correction) and tolerance for noise up to 120 decibels.

· Able to stand for extended periods and lift 50 pounds unassisted.

· Capable of physical movement including sitting, standing, climbing, walking, kneeling, and crawling.

· Able to work in varying weather and environmental conditions, including uneven terrain.

· Compliance with all HR, legal, and ethical standards including inclusive and effective decision-making.
