Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Beverages and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Assistant Manager - Electrical & Electronic Engineering. The position exists to carry out preventive maintenance and minimize breakdowns of Electrical & Electronic of all production & utility operations of Soft Drinks factory; maintenance of Electrical aspects in production & utility equipment of Ice Cream Factory within statutory and organizational guidelines with the objective of ensuring that production can be carried out with no disruptions.
Job Responsibilities
Ensure optimal operation and minimize breakdowns of utility and production equipment within SDF.
Oversee all Electronic/Electrical aspects of utility and production equipment across ICF.
Ensure availability of critical spares and initiate actions to maintain required stock levels, preventing production downtime due to technical failures.
Develop, coordinate, and implement strategies and policies aimed at reducing energy consumption across the facility.
Monitor, evaluate, and refine energy efficiency strategies to improve sustainability outcomes.
Devise systems and policies for energy procurement and assist in contract negotiations.
Provide technical and practical advice on energy efficiency, including internal training initiatives.
Design and execute promotional campaigns to support sustainable development initiatives.
Ensure accurate energy data is regularly collected and maintain comprehensive records.
Collaborate with mechanical/electrical design teams on new and refurbishment projects to meet energy and sustainability goals.
Conduct energy audits and benchmark consumption against industry best practices to ensure optimal usage.
Maintain and ensure compliance with ISO standards related to QMS, FSMS, EnMS, and OHSMS in relevant operational areas.
Participate in the Emergency Response Plan and fulfill defined responsibilities during incidents.
Develop and implement emergency response procedures for electrical and electronic system failures.
Ensure all electrical and electronic activities comply with established safety regulations.
Prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, and project timelines for electrical/electronic installations and upgrades.
Represent the department in meetings, prepare reports, and deliver presentations to internal stakeholders.
Maintain comprehensive documentation including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and compliance records.
Assess existing systems and ensure alignment with current regulations and standards, including liaising with local authorities.
Lead innovation initiatives to improve and modernize electrical and electronic systems.
Promote and embed sustainable practices across all relevant technical projects.
Organize and deliver training to staff to ensure alignment with the latest technologies, regulations, and safety protocols.
Person Specifications
Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University with at least 4-6 years’ experience in a FMCG Manufacturing environment.
Understanding the critical processes involved in Preventive Maintenance
Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
Exposure to ISO 50001 Energy Management System.
Experience in CapEx project planning, budgeting, and execution
Proficiency in SAP ERP System and MS Power Bi will be considered an advantage
Prior experience in managing technical teams or maintenance crews.
