On Demand Courier Dispatcher- Full Time

Job Description

Dispatcher needed for a very busy Courier and Trucking Company. Must be available to work weekday evenings 2pm-10pm and Saturdays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

Address problems and requests by providing solutions

Receive and dispatch orders for deliveries

Use radio, phone or computer to dispatch drivers to appropriate locations and communicate with our clients

Monitor the route and status of drivers

Provide drivers with information about orders, traffic, obstacles and requirements

Enter orders and notes in the system

Provide excellent customer service at all times

Assist with quoting jobs

Qualifications

Knowledge and experience with shipping and receiving processes and procedures.

Proficient in the Geography of the Greater Chicagoland Area

Minimum 2 years of proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position

Experience in data entry

Proficient in English (oral and written) and the geographical area

Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities

Active listener with excellent communication skills

Sound judgment and critical thinking

High school diploma
