Job Description

A Solder Technician is responsible for using hand soldering tools to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams. They assemble or modify electrical or electronic equipment and take part in other production operations as needed.

Responsibilities Include:

Reading and understanding customer notes, drawings, bills of material and CO-AX processes.

Using precision measuring tools or equipment (ie. voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, or calipers).

Reading and understanding values of components.

Selecting the appropriate solder and flux to meet specifications.

Building thru-hole and SMT printed circuit board assemblies, placing components on board per controlled parts list and work instruction documentation according to specifications.

Performing manual placement and hand solder components per specifications.

Dipping work pieces into molten solder using mini-wave machine.

Adjusting, repairing, or replacing electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.

Melting and separating solder joints to remove and straighten damaged or misaligned components, using soldering irons, hot air, etc.

Examining products or work to verify conformance to specifications.

Marking and tagging components so that stock inventory can be tracked and identified.

Counting finished product.

Maintaining production or work records.

Attaching or marking identification onto products and/or containers.

Cleaning and maintaining work area and equipment.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Profile:

Professional demeanor and appearance while working within an ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 environment

Detail oriented and possess excellent organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work constructively with individuals at all levels of responsibility

Basic computer skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with, or ability to quickly learn collaboration tools such as SharePoint

Education and Experience:

A high school education or equivalent

Manufacturing experience and/or willingness to learn the position

Familiar with measuring instruments and devices

Familiar with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 requirements

Previous experience working in an electronic manufacturing environment is desired but not required
