We are currently seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented SENIOR COMPUTER BUILD COORDINATOR. It is Micro Center’s core promise to take care of our associates and customers, which has led to our success over the last 40+ years!
The Senior Computer Build Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of assembling computer systems, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to technical specifications. This role involves coordinating with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to deliver high-performance computer hardware systems. The coordinator also mentors junior assemblers and leads continuous improvement initiatives.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and coordinate the assembly of complex computer systems, including desktops, servers, and custom builds.
Ensure all components are installed correctly and systems meet performance and quality standards.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for assembly workflows.
Monitor production schedules and adjust resources to meet deadlines.
Conduct detailed inspections and testing of assembled systems.
Identify and resolve hardware issues during the build process.
Mentor and train junior assemblers and technicians.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, component usage, and test results.
Report production metrics and improvement opportunities to management.
Work closely with engineering and QA teams to implement design changes and troubleshoot issues.
Coordinate with inventory and procurement teams to ensure component availability.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years of experience in computer hardware assembly or a related technical field.
Strong knowledge of computer components (CPUs, GPUs, motherboards, power supplies, etc.).
Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and manuals.
Experience with server and workstation builds preferred.
Familiarity with operating system installation and basic software configuration preferred.
Technical certification in computer hardware or electronics preferred.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Effective communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
