We are seeking a Sr. Software Developer with 7 to 10 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AWS SQL Spring Boot Java Spring MVC JavaScript and MySQL. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects in a day shift environment contributing to impactful solutions that drive our company success.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions using Java Spring Boot and Spring MVC to meet business requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.

Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity using SQL and MySQL.

Implement front-end functionalities using JavaScript to enhance user experience.

Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.

Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.

Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning and daily stand-ups to ensure project milestones are met.

Document software designs technical specifications and user guides for future reference.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve software development practices.

Ensure software solutions are secure reliable and performant to meet business and customer needs.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements translating them into technical specifications.

Mentor junior developers sharing knowledge and expertise to foster a collaborative team environment.

Contribute to the company mission by delivering innovative software solutions that positively impact society.

Qualifications:

Possess a strong understanding of AWS services and cloud computing concepts.

Demonstrate proficiency in Java Spring Boot and Spring MVC for backend development.

Have expertise in SQL and MySQL for database management and optimization.

Show experience in JavaScript for front-end development.

Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Display effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

Hold a bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $55K $114K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Applications will be accepted until 8/27/2025. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
