Linux System Administrator

GovCIO is currently hiring for an experienced Linux System Administrator with an active Secret clearance to join an Operations team. This position will be located in Arlington, VA, and will be a fully remote position within the United States.

Responsibilities: In this role, you will work with other members to mitigate vulnerabilities on Linux-based systems, implement STIGs, address POAMs, and mitigate Zero-Day vulnerabilities. Other standard Linux administration duties will be included in this role.

Qualifications: Senior-level RedHat Linux server administration experience, experience with other Linux OS versions desired, such as Ubuntu and CentOS. Experience maintaining and administering a RedHat Satellite server. A good understanding of system administration tasks, package management (RPM, Yum) modules building process, and deployment. Experience implementing logging solutions. Experience with vulnerability remediation. Experience in creating software/scripts to automate production systems with fluency in at least one of the following: Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python - appropriate use of built-in functions and libraries. Advanced Linux System Administration, Configuration, and System Security. Advanced systems troubleshooting skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Able to work independently as well as in a team. Bachelor's with 8+ years Linux System Security, applying updates and remediating vulnerabilities (or commensurate experience). Active Secret Clearance Required with ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability.
