Per Diem GI Endoscopy Technician 2

Shift Detail: Per diem GI TECH 2 position available as needed with rotating hours and weekend shifts.

Position Summary: Join our dynamic team as a Per Diem GI Endoscopy Technician 2, where you will play a crucial role in assisting during endoscopic procedures and ensuring a safe environment for patient care. Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse and/or Provider, you will be responsible for:

Preparing and cleaning procedure rooms and equipment to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.

Assisting with a variety of endoscopic procedures, anticipating provider needs, and passing instruments during procedures.

Performing high-level disinfection of endoscopic equipment and ensuring proper functioning of scope reprocessing equipment.

Transporting patients and specimens, always ensuring timely care.

Managing inventory and supplies, checking equipment integrity, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Participating in quality improvement initiatives and effective communication with staff and vendors about new devices and safety measures.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Previous experience as a GI Endoscopy Technician and relevance to GI Endoscopy Technician 1 responsibilities.

Licensure, Certification, Registration: Certified BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.

Continuing Education: Maintain 10 hours of continuing education annually as per regulatory requirements.

Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of infection prevention principles and ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Skillful communication with team members and patients to support positive outcomes.

Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Basic computer skills for data entry and communication.
