SEO Specialist
Position Overview
The SEO Specialist will focus on executing specialized SEO tasks across all client accounts with high-quality standards and volume requirements. This role specializes in one primary area of SEO (technical, local, on-page, or auditing) and contributes to elevating this specialty across all client campaigns. The Specialist may oversee overseas freelancers but has less team management responsibility than the Senior Specialist role.
Our SEO team operates through specialized focus areas that allow each team member to develop deep expertise while maintaining comprehensive coverage across all SEO disciplines. Each specialist owns their specialty across all client accounts, becoming the team's subject matter expert while maintaining high-volume execution standards. This specialized approach ensures comprehensive coverage of all SEO disciplines while allowing for individual growth and mastery. Specialists collaborate with other team members to ensure integrated strategies while continuously elevating agency capabilities in their respective focus areas. Key Responsibilities
Specialized SEO Execution
Execute tasks in one primary specialty area (technical SEO, local SEO, on-page SEO, or auditing)
Maintain consistent quality and volume of deliverables across client accounts
Implement best practices in specialty area following established processes
Identify and address SEO errors/issues using Google Search Console and other tools
Keep pace with industry trends and developments in specialty area
Team Contribution
Provide guidance to elevate specialized practices across client accounts
Coordinate with overseas freelancers on specialized tasks when needed
Participate in team meetings to share knowledge and insights
Collaborate with SEO Managers to implement specialized tactics
Document processes and successes in specialty area
Maintain flexibility in assisting with tasks outside of core expertise to meet team deadlines and company priorities
Technical Implementation
Perform advanced site audits and implement recommendations
Optimize on-site elements such as schema markup, internal linking, and content structure
Implement and troubleshoot tags via GTM when required
Analyze competitor strategies and implement improvements
Reporting & Analysis
Prepare detailed reports on specialized metrics
Analyze and interpret data to identify opportunities for improvement
Monitor performance of specialized tactics across client accounts
Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis
Document successful implementations for case studies

Collaborative Approach
Each specialist owns their specialty across all client accounts while collaborating with other team members to ensure integrated strategies. This specialized approach ensures comprehensive coverage of all SEO disciplines while allowing for individual growth and mastery. Specialists work together to:
Share insights and best practices across specializations
Coordinate integrated campaigns that leverage multiple SEO disciplines
Cross-train on complementary skills to provide backup coverage
Continuously elevate agency capabilities in their respective focus areas
Maintain consistent quality standards across all client deliverables
Qualifications
2-4 years of SEO experience with focus in at least one specialty area
Strong technical skills and attention to detail
Experience with SEO tools (Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, etc.)
Understanding of SEO best practices and latest industry developments
Experience in legal, medical, or dental marketing a plus
Comfort working with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to support research, ideation, and workflow efficiency

This is a salaried position with benefits such as PTO and Health Insurance available on first day of employment and 401k after 1 year. The budgeted salary for this role is $50,000 - $57,000 commensurate with experience. This position is fully remote but a preference will be granted to candidates in Charlotte, NC where we have an office.
