This position can report to any American Water location in Pennsylvania
Primary Role
Reporting to the Regional Manager - Operational Technology, this position is responsible for assisting with (through a team as appropriate) all activities related to the state Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) capital plan and delivery of several SCADA investment projects from inception to completion, the size and importance of which have a significant impact to Company objectives related to Production, Networks, and/or other water resource or operations systems.
Key Accountabilities
System Configuration and Management: Assisting with the configuration and maintenance of SCADA systems, including setting up data logging protocols and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Helping to analyze data collected by the SCADA system and generating reports on system performance and relevant metrics.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Assisting with routine maintenance checks and troubleshooting issues that may arise with the SCADA system.
Communication and Coordination: Facilitating communication between different teams and departments involved in SCADA operations and coordinating maintenance activities.
Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of system configurations, maintenance logs, and other relevant documentation.
Support for SCADA Engineers and Technicians: Providing administrative support to SCADA engineers and technicians, such as scheduling meetings, managing project documentation, and assisting with travel arrangements.
Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, Engineering, Project Management and construction management practices related to planning, design, construction and operations for water resource management facilities, engineering and utility economics and contract administration and construction technology.
SAP / Coupa purchasing and invoicing
Working knowledge of regulatory developments, new technology and current trends in water quality, water treatment, developer services and other related water resource management disciplines.
Knowledge of company procedures, policies and operations.
Knowledge of employee relations, applicable safety and environmental regulations, federal and state water quality and design regulations and technical standards.
Strong project management skills (e.g., planning, organizing, directing, monitoring and reporting on project activities).
Project planning skills. Good verbal and written communication skills (e.g., presentation, listening, report writing.)
Strong interpersonal skills (tact/diplomacy, persuasion, cooperation and ability to motivate others)
Computer literacy. Competent in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, flow-charting, and project scheduling.
Financial analysis skills, including budget management and basic accounting knowledge.
Experience/Education
Two-year (2) degree or equivalent preferred. However, significant additional experience and/or certifications or other education and training may be substituted for formal education.
0 - 2 years’ experience in Engineering design, planning, construction, project delivery and/or project management.
Significant additional experience and/or certifications or other education and training may be substituted for formal education
Work Environment
80% Office with occasional work in the field.
Travel Requirements
20% Travel to support business requirements as necessary.
