Research Engineer – Chemical Engineering / Polymer Chemistry / CAD Design

Location: Full-Time Onsite – Las Vegas, NV

Compensation: $70,000 – $85,000/year (DOE) + Benefits + Equity

WAVR Technologies is a fast-paced, mission-driven startup in Las Vegas developing advanced atmospheric water harvesting systems—technology that creates clean water from air, even in extreme climates.

We are hiring a hands-on, detail-driven Research Engineer with a strong background in chemical engineering, polymer chemistry, or materials science. This role combines wet-lab experimentation, 3D CAD design, and prototyping—ideal for engineers who thrive at the intersection of science, technology, and global impact.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct lab-based research on polymer materials and sorbents for water harvesting

Design mechanical components using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Onshape

Assist with prototype fabrication and testing (3D printing experience is a plus)

Maintain detailed lab records and project documentation

Track project deliverables using MS Project, Jira, Asana, or Monday.com

Collaborate with engineers and scientists to solve design and performance challenges

Present technical results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field plus 2 years of experience, or

Master’s degree plus 1 year of hands-on research or lab experience

Experience working in a wet-lab setting

Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, etc.)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail and project management capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with 3D printing or rapid prototyping

Experience working in startup or small R&D environments

Exposure to both academic and industry research settings

Interest in sustainability, climate tech, or water innovation
