Job Description
A Finish Carpenter, also known as a Trim Carpenter, specializes in the detailed and precise woodwork that completes a construction project, focusing on aesthetic and functional aspects. They install trim, molding, cabinetry, and other fine wood finishes, bringing a polished and completed look to buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
Reading Plans: Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
Measuring and Cutting: Accurately measuring, cutting, and shaping wood and other materials.
Tool Proficiency: Utilizing a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Quality Control: Ensuring high-quality finishes and attention to detail.
Collaboration: Working with other tradespeople, designers, and project managers.
Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues related to materials, design, or installation.
Maintenance and Repair: Repairing or replacing damaged woodwork.
Maintaining a Safe Work Environment: Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Installation: Installing interior and exterior trim, baseboards, crown molding, doors, windows, and cabinetry.
Fabrication: Building and installing custom shelves, staircases, and other built-in features.
Skills Required:
