MARKETING COORDINATOR
DEPARTMENT: Communications
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Sr. Manager of Marketing & Digital Programs
STATUS: Full Time, Non-Exempt
HOURS: 40 hours/week
SALARY: $27.40/hr - $28.00/hr

BIMA is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to support all aspects of the Museum’s marketing activities, including website maintenance and content, email marketing, and social media for BIMA’s exhibitions, programs, events, rentals, the BIMA Bistro, and the Museum Store.
The right candidate is energetic, deadline-driven, culturally savvy, and possesses a strong work ethic and a great sense of humor. Must be an excellent writer across a wide variety of styles, comfortable dealing with all types of people, and knowledgeable in social media and web platforms. Experience with Asana, WordPress, and MailChimp is a bonus. Help us tell our story!
Experience in organizational marketing, copywriting, community outreach, and digital campaigns are required. Experience with video, graphic design, or public relations is a plus. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Marketing Coordinator works closely with multiple departments to ensure the community, and beyond, know what is happening at BIMA and can find information efficiently.
The Marketing Coordinator:
- Executes the day-to-day of all marketing channels, including website, social media, and email marketing.
-- Utilizes BIMA’s cross-channel content calendar and plans with their supervisor and various departments to achieve the optimal reach.
-- Executes BIMA’s email campaigns, including crafting messages, obtaining approvals, and maintaining subscription lists.
-- Keeps BIMA’s website up-to-date, including exhibitions, events, other organizational content, including the ancillary programs, staff listings, and digital press materials.
-- Ensures BIMA’s website and emails are optimized for accessibility.
-- Develops engaging social media content, including captions and strategic hashtag use, to enhance brand visibility and maximize audience engagement.
- Proofreads and fact-checks outgoing marketing materials, ads, brochures, etc.
- Supports exhibitions, programs, and events by:
-- Project management of the trimester programming cycle
-- Ticketing support
- Supports the development of BIMA’s annual marketing plan.
- Ability to work major BIMA events as needed, especially the annual Auction, member parties, and occasional off-site tabling events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3-5 years of related experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a variety of formats
- Demonstrate excellent skills in communicating with a diverse group of people
- Must be able to see the big picture and think strategically while also performing hands-on management responsibilities
- Experience assisting senior staff members and supporting various departments
- Experience supporting marketing and public relations strategies
- Experience managing social media platforms including but not limited to: Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Experience with writing and editing social media copy that maintains a consistent brand voice, engages audiences, and supports campaign goals across multiple platforms.
- Experience managing websites (WordPress preferred)
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, & Photoshop)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to learn additional software programs as needed
- Excellent organizational skills

- Must have access to a vehicle as well as a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
