About us: Able Sales Company, Inc. in Puerto Rico is the largest importer and distributor of sugar in the island and home to the #1 sweetener brand: Dulce Caña. We import, manufacture and distribute raw materials and finished goods to manufacturers, bakeries, and the retail industry.

Overview: The ideal candidate is a highly motivated purchasing analyst managing procurement and planning for a segment product we offer. The main responsibilities include maintaining target inventory levels by analyzing historic demand, supplier lead times, and ensuring timely delivery of orders. The purchasing specialist will also ensure best possible price by negotiating with multiple suppliers based on volumes. They will collaborate with our sales team to ensure we can identify new suppliers and products for business growth opportunities.

Description of Essential Responsibilities:

· Utilize pre-selected demand planning tool to develop inventory management plans and delivery schedules for required products. Manage inventory levels to meet corporate goals.

· Identify current and potential product shortages to develop and execute a recovery plan to ensure least possible out of stocks.

· Coordinate product shipments with suppliers, carriers, and internal logistics team to ensure timely delivery.

· Develop long-term strategic relationship with product suppliers to ensure high level of communication, alignment, understanding and win-win negotiations strategies.

· Maximize savings and best possible margins by investigating market conditions, alternate suppliers, negotiating best possible contract terms based on volumes, shipment period and

credit terms.

· Manage claims to suppliers in relations to product quality, possible opportunities with deliveries, receipts, and overall terms.

· High collaboration with sales team to ensure correct forecasting, sense of urgency with client needs, and achieving new business opportunities.

Requirements:

· Expert skill level using Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the Internet.

· Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, constantly changing environment.

· Excellent Communication (written & verbal), interpersonal, and negotiations skills.

· Fluent in English and Spanish.

· Ability to follow through and provide excellent customer service and sense of urgency.

· Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

· Must demonstrate sound business judgment and decision-making skills.

· BBA in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related subject.

· Purchasing experience in the consumer field preferred.

· Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience.
