RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall management of all Application & Research Technology (ART) activities for the Market Segment (MS) Industrial & Transportation (INT) in Asia Pacific. Utilize and coordinate all ART lab resources in Japan, South Korea, Singapore and India efficiently. Make sure the efficient networking of all regional labs in the region.
Team worker with other functions of sales, SCM, PL and RD&I to achieve the same business target.
Be able to identify, acquire and realize customer projects and opportunities together with the commercial team.
Be able to initiate and maintain important business contacts. Ensure strong technical supports are provided for global key accounts.
Build up partnerships with regional accounts. Make sure technical support are fully provided to these accounts.
Participate and contribute to Global COEs (Transportation, Powder and Marine & Protective) activities. Make sure the COE innovation roadmap can meet the most of regional needs.
Be able to manage the ART team to support innovation projects from other regions.
Be able to lead the team to initiate and perform regional innovation projects working together with RD&I.
Participate, contribute and perform IP strategy for MS INT.
Be able to develop people and build up talent ladder within the ART team. Manage the team to peak performance.
Ensure the presence of INT for key important technical conferences.
Make sure all necessary EHSQ (Environmental, Health, Safety & Quality) measures and compliance requirements are followed strictly for all labs.
REQUIREMENTS
At least 5 years experience of technical management with a proven track record. Experience in coating industry is preferred.
Prefer Master or PhD degree in organic chemistry, polymer science, chemical engineering, or a related field.
Strong communication capability and culture inclusion to manage multiple labs in different countries.
Computer skills by using MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word) are required.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Able to travel regionally/globally.
