To acquire this advantage, Zolon is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure & Solutions Engineer to support a federal IT operations and modernization program.

The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience in AWS and Azure, DevOps automation, and infrastructure design.

This hybrid role involves close collaboration with engineering, operations, and security teams to deliver reliable and scalable technical solutions.

Candidates with prior experience supporting federal contracts are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure in AWS and Azure

Automate provisioning and configuration using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)

Evaluate and recommend appropriate database management systems to meet application requirements

Define file organization, indexing methods, and data security strategies

Support CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or similar tools

Troubleshoot system issues, monitor performance, and optimize infrastructure resources

Leverage strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate cloud infrastructure tasks and streamline system operations

Produce and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures

Ensure compliance with Client security and operational standards

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

8+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years focused on cloud infrastructure and DevOps

Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure services (compute, storage, networking, IAM)

Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell

Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)

Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working on federal government contracts

AWS or Azure certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator)

Familiarity with federal security standards such as FISMA, NIST 800-53, or FedRAMP

Exposure to container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
