Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting Risk Manager to our risk team. As a Risk Manager you will assist in the development and implementation of BBH’s Enterprise Risk Management - Investor Services Risk Management initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have an enquiring mind, seeking to identify, analyze and solve problems, enjoy being part of a team but have the ability to work on your own initiative, prioritizing and multi-tasking as necessary. You will drive the identification, analysis, and reporting of risk metrics and trends and communicate them to risk management and risk owners.

You will monitor and review new products, services, activities, processes and lead targeted risk/control reviews. As a member of the ERM InServ Risk Management team, you will develop insights into the control infrastructure and maintain a heightened focus on those activities/transactions that increase the overall risk profile of the firm.

You will also manage a team of analysts as well as plan, schedule and coordinate all project deliverables. You will also be expected to ensure that risk issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner. The position maximizes the overall review effectiveness by contributing expertise and leveraging skills of other team members.

Key responsibilities include:

Work closely with Investor Services Legal, Compliance, Strategy and Client Solutions to design products and services with risk profiles that are commensurate with BBH firm-wide risk parameters.

Facilitate clear and timely communication with business area contacts within the firm by advising, assessing, and interpreting relevant risk related issues.

Work with business lines to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment results and gaps.

Propose and perform targeted risk and control reviews of operational processes and workflows. Shape and propose recommendations to mitigate risks identified.

Coordinate SOC1 report testing, provide SOC1 status updates to management and serve as a support person for scheduling meetings, facilitating transfer of support and inquiry responses.

Provide advice, reports and draft actionable recommendations to Investor Services Management to assist in maintaining a strong risk and control structure.

Review incidents and E&Os arising within the Investor Services lines of business to ensure preventative actions mitigate the risk and are implemented effectively and timely.

Assess the risk event root cause analysis performed by the business to identify and address any significant control failures as well as assess/validate corrective actions proposed by the business.

Provide support to Investor Services with respect to control enhancements and process improvements and participate in integration and implementation of proposed solutions.

Identify, analyze, and report on risk metrics and trends, monitor and review new products, services, activities, processes.

Work with other Risk peers to ensure proper global application of risk model.

Provide regular risk management training to Investor Services employees.

Effectively manage a team of analysts which includes coaching, motivating, providing feedback and monitoring performance.

Coordinate corrective action with the business teams, including monitoring staff progress on resolving exception items.

Effectively utilize BBH's internal systems to meet and support monthly critical deadlines.

Effectively partner with business leads to ensure proper risk mindset and practices are understood globally.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance or related discipline or equivalent work experience required.

7+ years of financial services/transfer agency experience or similar Risk management experience.

Prior Risk, Compliance or audit experience is a plus.

Supervisory Experience.

Understanding of Risk principles and corresponding practices in assessing overall controls and effectiveness.

Strong communications skills, both oral and written and presentation skills.

Strong listening, investigative, analytical and negotiation skills.

Ability to develop and assist staff in skill development.

Strong interpersonal, relationship, collaboration and influencing skills.
