Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Pharmacist in Charge and Pharmacy Floor Manager and in accordance with local, state, federal, and company regulations, the Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automation equipment and other pharmacy machinery, including the Omnicell/OnDemand Express III packaging system. This role is critical to minimizing downtime, ensuring compliance, and supporting the pharmacy’s high-volume production operations.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on packaging, labeling, and automation equipment (e.g., Express III, blister packers, conveyors, sealers, printers, labelers).
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and control system issues, including PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, and pneumatics.
Complete cassette repair, ordering, calibration, and verification as needed.
Support installation, testing, and upgrades of automation systems; assist vendor techs during onsite service.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and spare parts inventory.
Communicate equipment status, risks, and parts needs to the Automation Manager and/or Floor Manager.
Complete any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
Availability to be on-call for repairs and emergency support to minimize downtime.
Ability to train pharmacy staff on basic troubleshooting and equipment handling procedures.
Lead daily readiness checks on automation equipment to ensure all systems are operational before production start.
Ensure all activities comply with safety protocols, regulatory standards, and internal SOPs.
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or trade school preferred.
Minimum 3 years of electro-mechanical experience, preferably in automation or manufacturing.
Previous Pharmacy Experience.
Must register with the OH Board of Pharmacy.
