*Electrical & Controls Technician / Engineer*
We're looking for a highly skilled and detail-driven *Electrical & Controls Engineer* to join our dynamic team. In this hands-on role, you’ll collaborate closely across engineering disciplines to design, validate, commission, and support complex electrical and control systems for custom designed machinery.
From concept to in-house testing, field installation, and post-installation service, you’ll lead initiatives that integrate advanced PLC-based controls, motion control, and HMI interfaces. You’ll play a key role in defining and refining engineering standards, performing risk assessments, and translating customer requirements into high-performing product specifications.
This position demands strong technical judgement, cross-functional collaboration, and a proactive mindset in a fast-paced environment.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Design and develop electrical schematics, IO lists, P&IDs, and panel layouts using *AutoCAD Electrical*
* Program *Rockwell CompactLogix PLCs* and develop HMI interfaces via *PanelView*
* Verify and validate safety circuits, including *safety PLC programming*
* Develop and test motion control systems for advanced equipment automation
* Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems
* Conduct risk analyses including FMEA and root cause evaluations; implement corrective actions
* Author and implement documentation for requirements, validation plans, and testing procedures
* Apply DFMA principles and perform system design reviews
* Collaborate across engineering, assembly, supply chain, and sales teams
* Present technical findings and project updates to stakeholders
* Support field services including installations, calibrations, upgrades, and customer training
* Interface with suppliers to identify solutions and integrate new technologies
* Assist Sales with technical quotations and costing
*Qualifications*
* Minimum *3+ years* of experience in product development and electrical systems
* Proficient in *AutoCAD Electrical*, *PLC programming*, *PLC troubleshooting*, *ladder logic programming*, and *motion control*
* Must have experience understanding, writing, and troubleshooting PLCs (Rockwell), VFD, HMI (panel views), Motor control systems including servos, Instrumentation (process controls)
* Strong understanding of design processes: ECR/ECN, DFMA, FMEA, and risk analysis
* Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and develop PLC programs with motion control
* Excellent verbal, written, and technical *communication skills*
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation capabilities
* Self-starter who thrives in collaborative, fast-moving environments
* Ability to manage *multiple tasks *and projects simultaneously with a high level of autonomy
* Ability to identify and examine production equipment failures to understand root cause analysis, with the help of interpreting schematics and drawings. Investigating and repairing electrical & mechanical systems such as: pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical circuits, drives and motion control devices.
* Willing to travel *20–30% domestically and internationally (Preferred - negotiable).*
* Comfortable lifting up to *50 lbs.*
* Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
* Proven experience in industrial maintenance with a focus on electrical systems.
* Strong understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols.
* Experience with field service operations and customer interaction is a plus.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
