Hampton also manages a wholesale and lumber export division and numerous reload, remanufacturing, and engineered wood manufacturing and sales operations throughout the U.S. through affiliates, Idaho Timber and RedBuilt. All of Hampton’s forestlands are certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), an independent, non-profit organization that promotes sustainable forest management. SFI-certified forests play an important role in water conservation, wildlife habitat, and climate solutions.

Job duties will focus on harvest unit layout and administration, road construction operations, and other management assistance on Hampton timberlands within the Sedro Woolley Management Area. This job will be based out of our Sedro Woolley, Washington office. This is a full-time position offering $78,000 - $90,000 annually.

Responsibilities

Assist with Hampton’s harvesting and forest road construction operations in the Sedro Woolley management area

Ensure operations comply with State and Federal regulations and the standards of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI)

Perform all duties in accordance with Hampton's safety plan

Assist in the Development of short and long-term harvesting and road construction plans for the Sedro Woolley Management Area

Assist in scheduling harvesting and road-building operations

Assist in the permitting, layout, and supervision of projects and operations

Administer contracts on managed fee lands

Ensure log quality from the stump to the mill on managed fee lands

Represent the company on industry, community, and advocacy committees or councils as requested. This includes local community public outreach activities.

Assist with other resource management needs; inventory cruising, silviculture, road maintenance, land and timber acquisition projects, and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Excellent PC skills using Microsoft products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Basic ArcGIS software and feature service skills

Proven customer service skills, negotiation skills, and related verbal and written communication skills

Participate in continuing education opportunities for professional development

Education: This position requires a minimum of an associate’s degree in forest-related disciplines or a related natural resources field, and preferably 1-5 years of demonstrated experience in field, administrative, or supervisory roles.

Work Conditions: The work area will be located in NW Washington, with limited overnight travel, and will consist of 80% fieldwork and 20% office work. Fieldwork to be performed in challenging field conditions, such as rough terrain and dense vegetation, during inclement weather (snow, rain, heat), either alone or as part of a team.
