Position: Controls Engineer Office Location: Humble, TX, USA

Are you experienced in designing and implementing industrial control systems? We’re looking for a dedicated Controls Engineer to join our team, specializing in control panels, automation systems, and PLC/HMI programming. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing electrical schematics, configuring automation hardware, and ensuring seamless integration of automated processes. If you have a strong background in industrial automation, electrical design, and system troubleshooting, this is your opportunity to work on impactful projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Design complex electrical, controls, communication equipment and systems to provide automation for industries such as water/wastewater, food and beverage, and life sciences.

Program, test, and debug PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric).

Develops BOMs, IO lists, and requirements for control panels.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems and automation equipment.

Develop detailed engineering documentation including single-line and three-line diagrams, panel elevations, general arrangements, and wiring schematics.

Ensure all systems comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.

Communicate effectively with customers to manage projects, gather feedback, resolve issues, and address concerns.

Identify scope of work, schedule, and budget requirements

Identify and develop new business opportunities with customers, consultants and end users

Coordinate and facilitate meetings with internal departments, subcontractors, and customers

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

2+ years of experience in control systems design and implementation.

Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Ladder Logic, Function Block, Structured Text).

Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, FactoryTalk).

Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).

Familiarity with instrumentation and process control systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
