Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Back Office MSP Engineer to support and scale our Managed Services Provider (MSP) offerings. This individual will act as the technical backbone of our MSP operations, designing, implementing, and managing the systems, tools, and workflows that power our managed service offerings—including monitoring, patch management, backups, automation, and customer support infrastructure.
This is a hands-on, systems-focused role that blends traditional IT engineering with DevOps principles. You will collaborate with field engineers, the sales team, and leadership to ensure a reliable, secure, and scalable service delivery model.Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and maintain core systems that support our MSP service stack (e.g., RMM, PSA, ticketing, backup, monitoring, patching).
Automate and optimize recurring IT processes, such as onboarding, software updates, device health monitoring, and incident response.
Integrate toolsets (e.g., ConnectWise, Datto, Auvik, Microsoft 365, SentinelOne, etc.) to ensure seamless operations and reporting.
Build and maintain dashboards and reports for internal use and client delivery.
Collaborate with front-line support to ensure escalated issues are resolved efficiently.
Lead internal projects for improving service delivery, security, and compliance.
Stay up-to-date on best practices in IT management, cybersecurity, and DevOps.
Participate in evaluating and implementing new technologies as our MSP offering expands.
Serve as a subject matter expert for internal teams on MSP operations and backend systems.Requirements:
3+ years of experience in an MSP, DevOps, Systems Admin, or IT Automation role.
Strong understanding of RMM/PSA platforms, such as ConnectWise, NinjaOne, Datto, or similar.
Proficient in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (especially Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS).
Experience with networking and endpoint security tools.
Comfortable with implementing monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery systems.
Strong documentation skills and process orientation.
Self-starter, capable of operating independently in a fast-paced, scaling environment.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing SOPs and automation flows for MSP operations.
Relevant certifications: CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or similar.
Knowledge of compliance standards (HIPAA, CMMC, NIST) is a plus.
Background in supporting healthcare, legal, or retail industry clients is a bonus.

Mid-level (3–5 yrs MSP, strong scripting)
$85K – $100K
Senior-level (5–8 yrs, compliance & automation)
$100K – $120K
Lead/Architect (designs MSP service stack end-to-end)
$120K – $140K
