Financial Operations Coordinator - Microbial Infection & Immunity

Department:

Medicine School Biomedical Sciences Microbial Infection and Immunity

Serves as Financial Coordinator for the Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity; manages inventory and procurement of laboratory supplies and equipment; identifies cost-saving collaborative purchasing opportunities; assists with financial reconciliation; serves as backup department procurement card manager; serves as liaison to the COM & OSP Service Centers, Shipping and Receiving, and other offices as necessary to identify and resolve issues related to transaction processing; communicates university policies and procedures; maintains office supplies and central copier/printer; maintains financial records; serves as Equipment Coordinator; tracks and tags equipment for inventory, monitors and evaluates equipment service contracts; coordinates and oversees new equipment installation; calculates equipment use and creates invoices for billing; assists with research components of employee onboarding; maintains personnel safety training records; conducts training; attends and provides administrative support to Department meetings and committees.

Minimum Education Required

High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration desired.

Additional Qualifications

1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred. Computer skills with demonstrated ability to use technical applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and Workday desired; advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel strongly desired. Knowledge of Ohio State University policy and procedures desired.
